In this chapter we’re steering quite rapidly into a much darker direction again. Our yaoi fangirl is totally showing… Also, considering how we end here, I feel I should probably assure you that this is not the last chapter! We’ve still got quite a long way to go, so I hope you’ll continue the ride with us through next week and beyond!

Welcome to another shortish chapter of hijinks in China — if “hijinks” is the right word …
Once again, a huge thanks to everyone who’s left us feedback! We always reread and cherish every one of your reviews. It’s an honor to be able to entertain you with our nonsense.
Historical note: In the real world, off-the-rack clothing shops were a recently-invented strange novelty in the 1890s, and there probably would have been few to none in China of the time. As always, we remind you that we are portraying a horribly inaccurate fantasy version of 19th century Earth, lol.

Hey everyone! As they say in China, xīn nián kuài lè! Did you have a good New Year? In another month we’ll have a second one as Chinese New Year comes around…
And speaking of which, if you couldn’t guess, this chapter finally finds us in Komui’s homeland. Please bear with us for the inclusion of things which would not really have been found in 1890s China such as modern-style showers. As always, we’ve taken our cues from Hoshino-sensei and don’t hesitate too much about anachronisms. 8D;
One of your co-authors must also beg your forgiveness for the silly Japanese chapter name to go with this rather Chinese installment, but if you’re interested in why I picked it, try putting “omote and ura” into Google and making up your own mind.
